061-ElectionsWe support: • A cut off of election laws changing thirty (30) days prior to an election • We oppose absentee ballots being received after 8 pm (close of Election Day) We oppose: • The removal or prohibition of drop boxes for absentee ballots • Absentee ballots being counted prior to the day of the election
045-State Energy Policy Renewable energies such as solar projects are one of our many choices that lead to a cleaner energy path to help reduce our carbon footprint. We applaud the increase in interest level however at the same time we caution the entire agriculture industry to fully understand the impact a solar farm could have on their property. A level playing field is important in all segments, therefore: We Support: • Setbacks of 500 foot minimum from adjacent property lines • Setbacks of 2500 foot minimum from state game areas • Set depreciation schedules for tax revenues to townships, schools and other local entities that would benefit from tax funds • Monitoring the preservation of rural character on farmable acres • Encouraging land development which strives to preserve open spaces • Game permits to help the displacement of wildlife from fencing around solar farms We Oppose: • Land inflation from renewable resources • The use of developed farmland for the use of solar panels
